Name:Mclean Creek

Camping:free but only serious party animals allowed!!!

Price:Free!!!!!!

Map: West of calgary since i have only been once i can't rememberthe axact location but do a search for snowmobiling and mclean creek and you should figure it out.

Phone/Email/Address: None

Hours:Anytime

Web Address:????

Type of riding allowed: Everything!!!! It is seasonal though they don't let you ride bike at certain times of the year because of Ice and stuff.

Additional Info:This place can kill you!!!! Some of the craziest stuff I have ever seen happened here. Massive uphill climbs and downhill riding. Big rocks and shale. prob wasted half of my bikes life span there in one weekend. Good times!!!!!

P.S. If you go try to take on the widowmaker, you will no it when you see it!!! People stand there with video cameras to catch all the carnage. My bud tried five times and couldn't get it. This summer I might get the nerve we will see!!!

Cool ex-pat from southern alberta

Hi, I am originally from Lethbride, then Calgary, then Utah. Ummm, just in case you were wondering it has been around 20-25 C everyday (one or two exceptions) for almost 3 weeks. People are mowing lawns, I spent last week fixing the neighbor's underground sprinklers. (been on the bike allready too--- tee hee)

Blackfoot track rocks, raymond is scary, although the guy that looks after the track in raymond is a really cool guy..(I am terrible with names).

Nice to hear from someone in the great white north.

It's a great track, I have a membership and ride it weekly. Here is their new site. They just launched this site so it's short on info but it will get better.

went to antler lake race track on sunday, ever see wagen wheel jump, its like a 100 m hill that keeps getting steeper and steeper as u go up and when u hi the top it is nearly vertical. Its a wicked table top. The track has so many elivation changes it look like fun. Any of u been? When i sell my 125 maybe a couple of us can get togother and go some place on practice day. I live in edmonton alberta. I could also get my brother to bring some pro atv class racers and there quads it would be awsome. Just need my 125 to sell for 450.

ive been to Mclean Creek, many times, awsome place im going camping there for 2 weeks and gonna be staying at Mclean creek campground(full hookups), maybe ill see some of u around there this summer. Ill be learning 90% of my bike skills this summer at southern alberta. I have seen widow maker, i cant remmebr was it on fisher trail east? I ride past it alot i remember.

You were at Antler Lake Race on Sunday.......... So was I, were you racing. That track is the best in the province it is so fun, wagon hill is a total rush, I can't decide if I like the vertical drop more or the vertical climb with the 100 ft jump better.

Sweet what were u racing? I was wwearing a Grey fox hoody and spent most of my time standing near the wagon jump. We met up with some of our friends on there 450s. Our friend was the leader in the atv race on the honda 450. I never raced b/c i still need some practice on a bike. I spent only 1 weekend time on a bike so what can you do? However maybe later this summer after i sell my 125,(right now in the bargain finder) which will be probly in a week or 2 here and get some month practice on a bike we could plan a time to go to a track on a practice day. Im just gonna need some more time to pick up on my biking abilities. Im sure in a month and a bit i should be ready.

I heard the track was closed down because it was making to much noise for the farmers. Was this the first reopening of it? I heard alos b/c of this you can only ride from 9:00AM to 7:00PM. I rememeber someone mentioning that to me.

The track opened in the early 60's and became one of the premier tracks for regionals and nationals in the 70's and 80's. From what I understand noise has been an issue at Antler as is common for most tracks, but the main reason it has not been in operation is it has different ownership. The land is currently used as a Bison farm. The Olsen's who now own the land do not want it used as a permanant track for a number of reasons however they do have an agreement with the AOTMX club and will allow them to use it for events like what you saw last weekend. The AOTMX has bent over backwards and jumped through alot of hoops to obtain permission from the owners, county and neighbors. They will host 2 race weekends and 2 practice weekends there this seaon. There is no public access and no other club permitted to use the facility. Thanks to Gord and Tom and the rest of the AOTMX crew for making this superb venue available again.
