I went up to Michigan last october over halloween for a father and son trail ride. The soil is very sandy and as a result it only gets better with water. So put on your soft terrain tires, keep on the gas and steer with the back. It was a great ride and I will be going back for sure next fall. Michigan is one of the best states out there for state maintained motorcycle trails. Where were you plaining on going?

were planning on going up to Mio. 2 of my friends have relatives up there where we can stay.my neighbor went up there and said the sooner the better since in the fall the trails tend to get whooped out. so hopefully were going to be going in a couple weeks. only if the snow quits falling. its april 11 and we have 2 inches of snow on the ground

We are going up this weekend to mio, calling for 6-8 inches of snow by 2pm thursday.

I guess a little snow won't hurt.

You are supposed to have a usfs approved silencer/spark arrestor.
But I did not have one on my 125, I rode it on the trails for about 4 years with no problems.

Basically if you do happen to get pulled over for another reason, then they might check it.

If you have your orv sticker, wear all the protective gear, only ride on the marked(designated) trails, and be respectfull, you should not have a problem with anything.
