We thought about running that OCCRA race, but not sure we'll make it up there. Jedi and his group have ridden there, these pics are from '06... [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] Anyway, I think he said it's a fairly sandy track. And I'm pretty sure the Duncan crew will be there, as they've been doing the occra series this year.

For more information you can go to [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] They run three different races, each for 1.5 hours. I think their loops typically run about 6-7 miles. At Ridgeline they're scheduled to run B race, Quads and then A race. The A race is the intermediate and pro riders and 30+ amatuers (I think), everyone else is B race, except for the mini's and long course mini's (if I remember right). Hopefully Jedi, Rbm or Batman will chime in here before too long and give you the lowdown.

Read up on the OCCRA link Char gave you. All the info is there. There is also a discussion forum under "Packing it up" if you need to ask questions. The next OCCRA race is this weekend at Gruber. It may be closer to you. The races are 1.5 hours and you run as many laps as you can in that time. And yes, I think you would fit in the Beginner class. Entry fee is $30. OCCRA membership is $30. Transponder is a refundable $10.

Racing definitely isn't cheap. When we went to Ada, we paid $5 on Saturday to practice, that covered our entry on Sunday as well. I'm guessing that differs with each track. I believe the OCCRA membership is just for this season. We asked about paying an extra $5 since we weren't planning on racing any more events and they said no, we had to pay the full amount. It's a blast though, we had a great time anyway. Hopefully we'll make the Ridgeline round, but we're also thinking about the Winter Olympics race at Nocona. Of course, then there's Cycle Ranch too..

Well I looked it up and gruber is farther off because I'm the okc area and I already had plans for this weekend that I might be able to break for racin but I couldn't afford that anyways, I'm kinda the middle of nowhere by everything else big. Stillwater is kinda off too so it looks like ridgeline for now but I don't know for shure if I even can.

| hey, I looked at the occra site again and was wondering about some of the fees? Does the practice day charge and race day charge count for track entry? also whats the electronic transponder for to like let them monitor you? heres the link to it- [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] -thanks sorry stupid me just read about the tranpoder, is it really only $10 to buy one? it sais $10 to rent or purchase one I think but that seems kinda unlikely? | You pay the $10 for the transponder and they'll refund you the $10 at the end of the day when you turn it in. |
