Default Riding in UTAH

I saw a special on Utah the other night and thought about how nice it would be to do a photo trip, then I thought about adding moto to the photo and having an even better trip. I was wondering what the weather is like during March or April. Im assuming that the winters are pretty cold, right? Also, what part of the state or specific areas would you guys recommend for riding and nature photography? Thanks in advance for your replies.

hmmm, march and april are pretty iffy in northern utah, however, in southern utah, you should be able to get some awesome shots in Moab, and other area's.

The mountains are an awesome place to get pictures, but that early in the year, pretty much everything is still snow covered.

Let me know if their is a particular area you are interested in going to?

If you are interested in taking pictures, you better leave Jim at home.

Well Woody, Im just not sure of which area TO go to. Moab would be great for pics, what time of year would be good riding weather for that area? What part of the state would you recommend for scenic pics and riding, and what time of the year?

Moab would probably be pretty good any time, except in the heat of summer since it get 100+ on a regular basis.

Northern Utah has some beautiful areas too, but very different in that it's mountains.

IMOP, I would come down in the fall (sept, or Oct) so you could get some great fall colors, and Moab wouldn't be very hot.

I'd have to agree with Woody. Fall is spectacular for riding and picture taking. Moab and other areas down south will be nice, and the mountains are beautiful, due in part to changing colors.

But also, you should be aware that the state is fairly large. So how much driving are you willing to do? If you're thinking spring, then I'd head to the desert areas out west, or down south, like Moab.

So pick a time you can come, then we'll help you figure out where to go. Would you be driving or flying in?

I have ridden Moab in early April two times. The upper elevations not too far away were still too snowy to ride, but the "rocks" were wonderful. Plan on riding at least 2 days at the very least. Fantastic scenery and the town isnt too overcrowded by they either. Everything from "Junction" over was good riding at that time and plenty warm enough for me.

I believe the Poly licenses are only sold @ walgreens now. Apparently walmart was discounting them too much, so the state yanked their license

Certainly let us know when you are coming, as I think a Mesquite Trip would be in order for sure. Not much to take pictures of there though other then me roosting you so you can pass it onto Motoman
