Default IQR build

Picked up a stripped IQR, PO was going to powder coat it but after buying a 133" track after being told it was a 136" got frustrated and sold it for cheap... I love deals like these!

Plan is to build this little 440 race sled into a boondocking/back country monster with a 136" and 700 ves big block engine.

Threw the ugly hood on just for fun, ill be looking for a new hood.

Pulled the chain case and removed the 133" track

Front suspension going together

Decided to go with a set of Simmons flex dual carbide skis. Starting to look like a sled again

Picked up this full 700 SLP exhaust for a killer deal. The pipe will be cut to fit, blasted and ceramic coated after being fitted to this chassis.

Picked up this 136x2" track

When I get back in town from work I will be ordering a power addiction racing engine plate so the 700 will bolt in to this chassis. I'm currently looking for a pro rmk front suspension or a front suspension from a 2009+ iqr (09+ iqr suspension was designed by HRP and is a amazing setup)

Those are some good looking cats.

Right now I only have my 2004 proxr (I will never sell that sled), this iqr, and a 03 prox I'm parting out. I usually buy, sell, fix/build, part out 3-4 sleds a year. It's a hobby that I can enjoy and I can also turn a profit from on my spare time. I think after this build I will put my money towards another bike... Haven't rode sense I sold my cr250 back in 2011.

8 more days and ill be back to turning wrenches on the iqr.

Long story short, I don't have enough free time (I'm out of town 6 months out of the year for work) and last time I worked on the iqr I became frustrated with this sled.
Ended up trading it for a 2007 mxz xrs 600 sdi with 3500 miles on it. Pull for and rip, ready to go.

I plan on sellin this and buying an iqrr rather then building a iqr into a rr.

Beware of the single ring fail and the isoflex explosion.

From what I read the etec engines are the ones that had issues with the bottem ends due to the lack of oil to the crank cases. Sdi's an all other twins from 99'+ doo's should be fine because they still have oil going to the bottem end. Either way, if properly maintained they hold up.

And the 600's that had ring issues were the 03-04's. in 05 the ptek's and sdi's went to a chrome rings, other engines still used the moly rings though.. unless there is an issue with the newer sdi's that I'm unaware of?

The rev is for sale though, I have no plans of keeping a skidoo! Haha

The oil only lubes the rod. I have done a good 20 crank jobs on these things. Their genius idea of running greased crank bearings " isoflex" is horrible. The seal pops, grease gets sucked in and pow. And yeah the 03-04 had ring issues. A its single ring and b the chrome falls off the rings. Not a skipoo fan here lol
