Fuel-Injected Fourstroke Montesa Engine

I thought Keeto and others of you might find interesting these pics of Montesa's new programmable fuel-injected fourstroke trials bike. Sherco has their own fourstroke, as well as Scorpa's air-cooled TTR rendition. However, nothing looks quite as nice as this Honda/Montesa.

I never new that the motor was a hanging unit. I always though the frame cradled it like most bikes. Very nice D.

That muffler is a work of art!

Looking at the fuel injection unit and how it bolts on to the intake manifold, you can see how this technology can be quickly adapted to existing bikes. Change the CDI, install the appropriate sensors and last year's carbureted bike becomes this year's FI bike.

One of the neat things about the Cannondales was the ability to use a PDA to change the FI mapping. It will be a great day when we get this on motocross bikes. I want my Ricky map now!

It really is a work of art. You can see the Honda technology all over that Montesa--the perimeter frame, the fourstroke R & D, the clutch cover that says "Honda," lol.

Great looking bike, DCox! I would love to try one and may have to go to an event or two this year to do so. On that subject, Texas (muenster) is having a National event this April. Can't wait to see the new bikes in action!
