Allot of racers use a mixture of Blendzall or klotz in there gas. Some use a Blendzal blend for the engine oil. some of it just VP race gas, trying to squeeze out all the HP they can.

2fun takes the summer's off as he has no internet connection at home, only at college.

However, I would think we should be seeing his little hedgehog soon though.

Then my guess is that Blitz won't be so close.

My VW in college smelled like bean oil (Castrol R) Among bean oil users there used to be as many arguments and castigations about those poor wretches who ran whatever brand of bean oil you didn't. Of course you could always tell the "bends all" users from their well developed legs and lungs they got from pushing and crying. ( I think they used to say something about us more sensible sorts being "castrolated".)

The new oxygenated fuels have had me change my way of thinking about race fuels. At one time if you were not facing severe detonation there was no reason to use race fuels over pump gas. For years I have been jetting anything to run on any consistent quality (emhasize "consistent") pump gas or race fuel. Seems we could get any 4stroke under 12 to 1 (and even my 12.5 to 1 79 xr 500 motor) to run nicely on pump gas of 93 Min octane unleaded premium. Two strokes ditto. So in my case I saw no reason to run race fuel.

Like I said, that has changed. NuTec was the first oxygenated race gas I was invited to try. Noticeable in anything. Don't let the low octane numbers that NuTec among others publishes scare you. Those are, if I am not mistaken what is called "motor octane numbers". The ratings we see on the pumps are called "minimun octane ratings". The socalled and very confusing term of "minimum octane rating" is derived by taking the "motor octane number" and adding it to the "research octane number" and dividing by 2 (averaging in other words) to get the "minimum" number that appears on the pump. Of the two ('motor octane' vs 'research octane') the research octane number is often times 12 full points higher than the motor octane number. Thusly a "motor octane number" of 87 may translate into 96 or so if it were given a rating like we do pump gas.

In other words,,dont be scared of it. As FFR stated,,,2 hp right out of the can.
