Exclamation Crazy Freestyle Video!

This is a absolutely horrifying video recording of a rider losing control and overjumping a dirt mound landing.

*WARNING* Some images are pretty bad, by that I mean it shows the rider up close after crash with twisted legs.

It has made me think that it's best not to have a go at something if you don't feel confident rather than just hucking it and trying your luck.

Ouch!!! :

I'm sorry, but I will take my chances of a bad landing and let the bike take most of the hit. I've seen too many wrecks like that where people just throw the bike away and take the impact themselves. I'll take a couple broken ankles and some scrapes and bruises over that any day.

At the Arena cross I watched a FMX guy get his foot stuck over his bars and kick the bike away. Only to land smack down on his rump. I thought for sure he was dead.

Yep my sentiments exactly Loki!

Your bike has about 12-15 inches of high-tech suspension travel. You stand ALOT better chance if you stay with your motorcycle.

Yeah, your suspension travels a lot better than your bones do.

But by going with the motorcycle ive read that you are at greater risk to injure your back instead of your legs.

yup or your neck. Sometimes ya just gotta bail. Tracey Latham's crash though I dont think he even bailed. He just looped out real bad and had to let go. His suspension wouldnt have helped in that situation..

Obviously there are situations where being away from the bike is better. Just the same as there are crashes where not wearing your seat belt in a car is better than wearing it. However in most instances it is better to let your bike take up the impact.

On the vid, dang that had to hurt. I'm glad it wasn't me.

I am living proof of that statement. However jumping off would have had me broken in some other place for sure as well.

On the vid....I am still downloading that 11meg file.....
