Default build up thread!!!

Looking for any oppinions or advise!!

chassi- 1999 rmk 700 bulkhead and tunnel are in very good condition

engine- 98 xc w/ 220's brand new clutch, almond spring w/ 10-62's. stock secondary

suspension

front- XC fox shocks, posability of xc radious rods to widen the front end so it will work well with the xc shocks.. but I dont know of the bushing on the rear of the trailing arm would bind up, or even if a 98 xc front suspension will bolt up (everything but the trailing arms)

rear- I could use any of these 97 x-10, 98 x-10, or a 99 x-10. the 97 seems to fade the rear shock faster then the 98, but I dont know how the 98 compairs to the 99. I have yet to try the 99 skid in a sled... any thoughts? all skids have fox shocks with relativley new charges

I will be running either a 121" track (have yet to get one if I take that route) or I could use either of my 136" tracks in 1.75" or 2" lug. keep in mind I will be using this sled for trail/river/lake with the very occasional swamp. I ran a 136"/1.75 track for years on my "in between" sled and liked it very well. but now that I have two sleds (extending my other rmk to 144) so I am considering going to a 121 and selling my 136"s rail extentions ect.

Here's pictures from the day I picked it up, I have not gotten as much as I liked to get done sence I have spent more time taring my other sled apart then building this one... haha
how I got it

front shocks, new bushings, ski's.

also I just figured I would throw this out there, Im going with a black/blue skiem(sp?) with this sled, sence the other rmk is black/red... figured they should make a good pair!

More to come tonight!

98 head with 99 coolent hose... no good.

how a 99 head is setup, notice the second hose on the under side of the head?

99 coolent pump setup

how the 98 coolent pump looks.. lots of hoses to be eliminated to use the 98 engine.

took a bit of work but I got the whole coolent thing figured out...

decided to go with a 121/1" track. got the drive shaft put in and chain case finished. Im going to use the 99 xtra-10 suspension with a ETS system on it.

the reeds on the left were my 98 reeds, the ones on the right are from the 99 engine that I had as a spare... needless to say I will be using the 99 reeds!

here's a list of things I need to do to have this thing finished up.
put on drop brackets so I can mount my suspension
foot rest needs fixxed or replaced
need to finish putting the fuel/oil lines on the sled
new rope for the recoil
go threw my secondary clutch
bars/choke/ignition/primer
I think thats it!

So I havnt been keeping you guys updated to well, the sled is almost done.

all thats left to do is hook up the fuel lines and put the seat on and I need a new foot rest ($100 new, so Iv been looking around for a used one)

In all honesty, Im thinking of selling both my sleds and buying something newer. but it would be a PITA buying a used sled that I dont know how its been taken care of. expecialy when Id be giving up two sleds that have been 100% gone threw and I know they will take me out on the ride and make it back home without breaking down!

just got these parts-

5" fly risers
fly braided steel brake line
power madd throttle extension
brand new foot rest- will be here thursday
bought holz racing products front suspension
98 xc seat

still need to find a set of bars I like.

this front suspension is so light, its probably half the weight of the stock parts.

the sled fires right up and runs great, I still need to plumb in the primer and get a choke lever.

picked up some fly sno-x style bars, and needed taller risers so I got some 8" fly risers. also got power madd hand guards.

if my uncle gets a 156 track, I will be getting his old 144/2" track and will trade the 144 track and my rail extensions to my friend for his 136/2" track and a 500 cc stand up jet ski with wet pipes and all that fun stuff...

in the end, I get a 136/2" track to throw on this sled (currently has a 136/1.75" track) and a new summer toy

pic of the hand guards, with my old 5" riser

got the rail extensions and tunnel extension. already bent my new bars, broke my new foot rest, broke my recoil housing, hitting big berms at 80.8 mph can do wonders to a sled...

also, changed to looks of my sled.. shes blue now!

I thought you wanted us to help you build up this thread... not help you build a snowmobile...
