Default 06 Yamaha lineup

Has anyone checked them out yet? I have to say I think they are headed in the right direction, but still not hitting the nail on the head. Go to Yamaha's web site, check them out, and post your thoughts!

I think they are awsome I was surprised they took the RX-1 completely out of there lineup.

I think weve seen the final days of 2 stroke snowmobiles.

Quadrider, the sled I posted above is the new RX-1, it's called an Apex now. I don't think two strokes are done for yet, the 4's are still too heavy to make most people jump ship just yet.

I agree the two strokes arn't done yet but it will only be a matter of time when the four strokes are almost as good. The thing with four strokes is they're alot less maintness and more "enviromently friendly". The two strokes will be there for a while yet but time will tell.

wow sorry to ruffle feathers but...

ALL 4 brands make 4 strokes! (and have for at least 2 years)
Yamaha WILL make the RX-1 for '06
Only company to meet 2006 emisions standard for 5% of yhe companys line up...was Ski-doo with the 04 & 04 600cc SDI (semi direct injection)
Polaris and Cat offer turbo charged 4 strokes for next year (Cat already did)
The turbo polaris for next year is just at 100 LBS more then a 2 stroke with the same chassis. (sorry but that ain't going to cut it with some folks)
Yamahas have come a long way in the last 2 years with their 4 strokes at getting them lighter but they are still giving up 40 pounds to the 2 strokes. (compare a Attack (or any 4 stroke) vs. F7 and it's MORE!) (and yes just like in every other motor sport where performance counts in snowmachining weight IS the enemy!)
Is there even ONE yamaha racing in the national ranked sno-x events? ( http://www.wsaracing.com ) NO!! Not even in the OPEN class where the rules are very open to exotic parts and pieces.
And lastly;
Did the 4 stroke dirt bike eliminate the 2 stroke dirt bike? NO!
So will the 4 stroke snowmachine eliminate 2 stroke snowmachines? NO!

but the treehuggers might!

Bingo! The other companies just don't make their 4 stroke lineups well-known, because where we are right now 2 strokes are king of the hill in snowmobiling and will be until someone gets a 4 banger down in weight enough to be comparable to a 2 banger. Arctic Cat made the job harder with the M7, it's the lightest production mountain sled available right now.
