Default Suzuki LT50

Hi guy's, I'm a complete novice when it comes to bikes. I have just bought my son a 1999 LT50 for christmas. The night that I bought it I was able to get it running without a problem by locking the brake and just pulling the pull cord. The next day while my son was at school I tried to get it started to see how it runs and I couldn't. I wasn't sure if the choke had to be up or down so I tried it both ways. Can anyone tell me where I am going wrong please?

Also could anyone give me any tips on how to keep it running well, do I have to mix the petrol?

Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated as I am a beginner and my knowledge of quads/bikes is zero! lol

Thanks in advance, Seán

lever in the down position is choke on, and it's injected so take the wing bolts off the bottom of the seat/fender assy in the back(one on each side) and you'll find the oil reservoir under the seat. When it starts lift up the rear, release the brake and gas it.Get it warmed up and turn the choke off. Oh Yeah!, be sure and hit the brake to slow it down before you put it back on the ground.Or you could put it on a box so the rear tires arent touching the ground. (MUCH SAFER)
