LT50 Wont start

Hi, I bought a used 98 model lt50 a few days ago and it was running fine until it cut out yesterday and now it wont start.

I have checked a couple of things, the plug still sparks and fuel is getting to the carb.

Does anyone know of anything else i could try before I resign myself to taking it to a garage.

Just because a plug is sparking doesn't mean that it will spark under compression. If I were you I would try a new spark plug and see if that works, then check back and let us know.

Depending on the age of the child, you might check to see if the restrictors are still are still on the engine. It came with one between the intake and the cylinder and one in the exhaust where the exhaust pipe flange meets the cylinder. They wouldnt keep it from starting, but make it where it will barely breath at all. Then with no throttle and full choke try to start it. If it's flooded try it with no choke and WFO (wide full open) throttle.

I know you said it was getting gas to the carb, but what is the level in the tank?
Perhaps it wouldn't be a bad idea to top off the tank??

Also, as was mentioned, a new sparkplug wouldn't hurt either.

How clean is the airfilter??

thank you everybody for your help, turns out it was the spark plug that needed changing. I also gave the airscrew a turn now it tick's over and sounds sweet.

The quad is still restricted which is ok for the moment as it is my daughters first off road vehicle but im sure in a couple of weeks when she gets to grips with the speed I will need help to de-restrict it and now I know excactly where to come

I would like to say thank you again to everyone who replied, my daughter will be very happy when she gets to ride her quad at the weekend.
