Default lt 50 carb falls off

I have rebuilt from tires up a lt 50 for my son but the carb dosent fit the intake I orderd a new intake but its on back order tell dont know I have a doner quad but it came with no carb. do I have the wrong carb ? I made a rubber sleeve that wraped the intake but it didnt last .the dealer said there is no gasket Iam at a loss!

Default Reply to carb falling off

Hi there i to have rebuilt a lt 50 for my son.If yours is the same model as mine i cant see how the carb would fall of .on mine the inlet bolts to the cylinder and the carb slides over the inlet and holds on with a 10mm bolt that pinches tight around the carb body.I hope this makes sense.Il attach a link of parts diagram below have a look at carb section to see if you have the same inlet and carb regards iash101

Thats how mine works. however the inlet is so much smaller ,like exp,using a querter inch air fiting on a half inch air chuck !

is there a steel bush in the carb inlet with slots running down the length???

Thats your problem id say perhaps you could make one out of a bit of pipe with the same outside diamiter as the inside diamiter of the carb inlet youll have to cut a few slots down the length to allow it to pich tight on the inlet

easyer said then done my first try leaked air. maybe if you could show a picture of yours ,as allthe parts break down sheets shows nothing .

The part your missing is a sleeve made from fiber. It does'nt look like it's available by itself it probably comes with the carburator body.

This is the best i can do i found this picture on ebay mine is metal not fibre.Have a look at the pictures you can see the bush in one of them!!!!

Thanks for the pic link ! I know I can make one now. Also I 'am still waiting for my new intake pipe maybe it'll come with a new sleeve.[factory back order for last 2months.]
