Default Aftermarket Tecate A-arms... anyone make have a set?

Hello,

1st off I would like to say hi to all my fellow Tecate owners. I am new to the board and have owned my 87 KXF for 2 years and have recently started a restoration project on it. I know that parts are hard to find so I'm hoping that you all may be able to help me as this project moves along.

I have just totaly torn it down to a bare frame and will be striping and powdercoating or polishing every part.

I am looking for a set of 2+1 or 2+2 a-arms with tie rods and brake hoses. Any one know were I can find them or who even still makes them?

I restored one about 4 to 5 years ago. I was able to buy everything new but I wasn't after any hop up items other than the engine. I did put dished out rims on the front and a steering stabilizer to stop the head shake (you can reverse standard rims with inverted valve stems). Ebay has some used parts and I remember seeing exstended A-arms and shocks out there. So somebody made them, but I can't remember the brand. Used Tecate parts are expensive too. Getting scarce. Good luck!

I have seen one set on ebay about a year ago and now I wish I boght them. I know B and B racing makes them and I have heard that Bugard may still make them but I have not been able to contact them. I know that parts are scarce and expensive so I have picked up a parts bike minus engine for that reasion.

I am an American Star dealer, I will find out if they make A-arms for the tecate. I don't think they do, but I'll check.

I checked on it today and no luck. They only make them for the newer machines, Banshee's and 250R's. Sorry, but I tried.

Thanks anyway Woody. I have talked to KillerKX327 and he has them at his shop. But I'm still interested in knowing if other companys still offer them.

Herrman Racing and ILR Performance both make extended a-arms for the Tecate-4.

Default a-arms

Hi. ILR doesn't have a website yet. The owner's name is Dave Roberts and he does a lot of this Tecate stuff on the side out of pure passion for the machine. He used to work for Kawi back when they were manufactured. Also worked for DG before that. He's a great resource when it comes to the Tecate and the best part is that he's a honest person. I highly recommend getting to know him even if you decide to go with Herrman arms. He usually tries to sell the two-way adjustable arms because the three-ways are usually too adjustable for people. Most riders will have a really nice front end with no idea how to adjust it correctly. He sells the handmade a-arms for around $450 with tie rods. It's honestly the best deal that you'll find for the craftmanship.

His email is [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and his shop phone is (253)735-5549. Let him know that I sent you so he should take care of you! I do a lot of business with him.

thanks,

Brian
