Question trx250r clutch problem?

hey, i have a 1986 trx250r and the problem is that (eather cold or hot) when i let the clutch lever about half way the clutch starts to make this grinding noise. The oil level is up, i dont think it is the trany b/c its only when im leaving, and the when im leaving it dont feel like the clutch is wore.

So does anyone have any ideas what might be making this noise?

Sounds to me like its your clutch fibers. May be time for a new clutch. I know of a great up-grade you can do. Let me know if you want it and I'll send you the link.

Read the post that C-Leigh posted. He knows 250R's like John Force knows drag racing. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Yep, Neils mod works great. I have also found out that you can use the pancake bearing and rod for a 89 clutch and use the 86 preasure plate by using all 400ex steels. The thicker steel plates take up the space that the 86 pressure plate leaves. The thicker steels grab harder and disipate heat better than the thinner 250r steels.
