Hello All: I recently bought my daughter a 2007 250EX with the auto-clutch. However, yesterday she tried to go for a quick ride and the bike shut off on her and we can't get it back into neutral. You can roll the quad bkwards, but the wheels are locked in gear. I've tried to jump on the gear shifter while rocking but no luck. I've checked the battery charge = Okay Does anyone know how to get the quad back into neutral so we can start it up again ??? M/C Shop was useless, told to bring Quad in with about $300 to check out and advise. Anybody have any ideas. Can I pull the quad to try & pop start it ??? It feels like the clutch is disconnected from the clutch plates. Help !!!!! [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Oh boy, I know on a full manual when it's stuck in gear it can be a shifter paw spring or transmission star problem but I'm not shure on a semi-auto. I would try rocking the wheels back and forth while trying to shift it out of gear. I'll be honest this has been given and gets you no where but if you spend $30 on a clymers manual it will have troubleshooting on it and if you still end up having to take it to someone you'll still use the manual later. Long story short even if you get it out of gear by rocking there's obviously something wrong so your still going to need to tear into it.

I bought it brand new from teh dealer... Of course they want me to bring it in for a $100 diagnosis... I was hoping somebody out there had experienced the same problem. The shift lever seems to be stuck in one position and will not move up or down even with rocking. I thought perhaps could pull the quad behind my JD Tractor to "pop start" it, but the tires just drag. It seems like there is something internally disconnected. Not sure if low gear box oil would do this ??? Any other ideas before I sell out and take her quad into the dealership and shell out money in this rough economy ???
