400ex Problem

Ok i just got this 400ex it starts right up but when I open up the throttle all the way no matter if Im riding it or just sitting in Neutral its just starts bogging/missing (well it sounds like a miss) Its a 99 with procircuit pipe and currently doesn't have an airbox lid i just cleaned the plug (pain in the *** to get in there lol) and i dont really know if it would matter but i currently dont have a battery in it i just want to get an idea where to start..... rev box, carb/jetting, airbox lid? Thanks

Sounds like the main jet. It is hard to clean it.Just go to your local dealer and tell him the elevation you ride.He will give you the float level and main jet size.

Ok thanks for the help ne thing other than that and can you tell me does it really make a difference if i have a battery on there or not thanks again

I'm sure the engine is getting spark from the CDI. or it wont run at all. So I guess the battery wont change that.But I'm no expert on battery assisted machines.

no the battery does not mater i have a 400ex also and it runs fine without a battery so that couldnt be your problam

If it were mine, I would start by cleaning the jets....
