Default 1984 Honda 200x 3Wheeler

I bought a old 84 200x from a guy for $300. I'm currently re-building it, well, at least making a attempt to replace most parts with new or old in good condition. I'm currently taking apart the front caliper and pads... was wondering if anyone had any tips regarding these three wheelers? ANY advise for any part on this trike would be appreciated. Thanks-

if the rear axle and hub is anything like the 350x (and i think it is) then you are going to have a tough time doing anything with the rear end including bearings. I have some tips if you run into problems just let me know

Thanks for the heads-up on that, I don't know too much about axle systems, etc....

I did run into a problem with the front brake caliper.... I bought a new front brake hose/assembly... then went to plug it into the caliper, but its just a ring that somehow plugs in.

The caliper has an open spot (looks like a bolt is supposed to go in there) but there is nothing...

Wondering if there is some kind of bolt meant to hold the brake hose to the caliper?

Thanks

cannot really remember if there is a bolt that holds on the brake hose but there should be a clamp to hold the hose on if i remember right.

You're not talking about where the banjo bolt threads into the caliper are you? The end of the hose should have a thick ring on it, and a hollow bolt (banjo bolt) that lets fluid move from the brake line into the caliper is supposed to hold it on.

You wouldn't happen to have any pictures would you? They would probably help.

Scrap99 -

Thanks! I believe your right.... The end of the brake hose does have a ring and small hole (which would let the fluid move in.

I guess this bolt is missing, I will take and post pics.

thanks again

No problem Oh, and there should be a copper washer on each side of that little ring on the line when you bolt it in, don't wanna forget those.

Sorry about not getting the pics yet.... ordered a banjo bolt through the local auto store, need to get the washers still! The only other issue is determining the size of the bolt, it looked to be about 8mm. I will try a couple different sizes to make sure I order the right one.

You might want to just go to a dealership and order the o.e.m. part for it. It would take all the guess work out of it, and you would only have to buy one. On something that small, it would probably be around the same price too.
