05 Rancher AT tire size question Got a 2005 rancher AT 4x4 400cc with the factory 24 x 8-12 front and 24 x 10-11 rear. The rears are about shot in 110 hrs. and they were junk anyway.
I figured I'd put something more aggressive on there this winter, but not sure what to go with exactly. It's sole use is on rough rocky / hard packed Ozark fire roads and towing my 800lb. WaveRunner up and down a STEEP hill. The launch ramp is also very slimy at times requiring 4x4 to get off of it with the PWC.
That said, I was considering Maxxis Razors, not sure which variety yet cause I haven't looked, but I definitely prefer Maxxis. I know these are for more mud / dirt, so I'm not opposed to other suggestions. Since the Rancher is so narrow, I wasn't sure how the squared off tires would effect ride / handling.
I also want to go bigger in size. I don't know if I should go taller since I do tow that beast of a PWC up that steep incline in 1st. gear nearly wrapped out. I would definitely like to go wider, but not sure how much, or what I can get away with up front since it seems kinda tight in there. I don't want to rub while steering.
Anyone experimented with tires on their Rancher? Thanks!!! |
