polaris trail blazer 250 oil injection.

Hello, my sister just bought a 98 trail blazer 250 and I think it's oil injected. My question is what type of oil do you put in there? Can we just use regular 2-stroke premix or is there specific injection oil? Just want to know so we can ride it untill we get the block off plate.
Please help.

The oil companies..most of them that I have seen make a premix and then an injection version...what the difference is I don't know.

However most quads with oil injection...the aftermarket will develop "Block Off Kits"..I highly recommend you get rid of the oil injection...if it fails...there goes your motor. If you mix the gas yourself...you know its gonna be getting oil. Thats my .02 cents.

polaris sells two types of injector oils....blue bottle is a mineral based oil...i use this in my polaris's,and they sell a full synthetic...gold bottle. the difference in a injector oil and a premix oil is that an injector type has a extra ingredient that keeps it at a steady viscosity(thickness)so the injector can do it's job...meter the correct amount...warm weather or cold.the types and qualities of either type oils are good as each type...just the viscosity difference.you can also premix the injector type with gas,just like a pre-mix only,but don't use a pre-mix only in a injector. i believe most injector oil formula's are designed to be a 20wt vis.,and i've read that most pre-mix formula's are 30 to 40 wt vis. i buy the polaris blue..in my area for $5.00 per quart bottle.it's a very reasonable price for 2cycle oil.

if a polaris dealer isn't close...maxima,bel-ray,honda ,suzuki,yamaha,etc...all make a injector formula oil too.
if you can find it...the maxima oil has castor in it also....sweet smelling!

You can get Maxima oils through the ATM store too, just FYI.
