Default Need info on Polaris Ranger 4x4

I am considering buying a polaris ranger 4x4 with the 500 cc engine in it for work.

It will mainly be used for hauling tools and parts around job sites, basically just running around the job site to save time. I don't intend to be pulling heavy loads or hauling anything heavy with it, so I don't think I need the one with the 700cc engine or 6 wheels. We have other equipment for doing the heavy work.

Does anyone have any experience with these, as in are they pretty bullet proof, are there common problems I should be aware of or look for when buying one?

Currently I'm looking in the 2005 and up range with the 500cc engine.

Thanks

Well I don't know anything about the Ranger, but I do know that if you're looking for something thats alot more comfortable, better suspension, and better cockpit design then the Yamaha Rhino is the way to go. If you go into your local Yamaha dealer they should have a brochure type thing that has a dvd in it comparing it to all of the other side X sides on the market. Just my opinion.

I don't have any experience with the Polaris, but I own the Rhino 450 and have ridden the 660 many times. In my experience the smaller motor does everything the bigger one does, just not as fast. My guess is the Ranger is going to be the same way, so I wouldn't hesitate to get the smaller engine.

Thanks for the info.

Picked up a 2005 Ranger last week with the 500cc engine. So far is seems to work great and will do anything we need it to.
