Default Air filter/rejetting

I plan on buying a k&N this week for a riding trip up in the mtns. Right now i ride the predator at about 5500-6500 ft above sea level, stock, with no issues, but i will be at like 9000 ft and hopefully a new air filter. how do i configure jetting. And is it neccessary for this trip?

Thanks!

Although I don't know much about the Predator, I would think that putting on an air filter that allows more air into the engine might compensate for the rise in elevation. It might just be a wash and the jetting might be fine with the aftermarket air filter...

Well see i tossed in the uni, did the dyno thing and i have been tuning it right now. As it sits its WAY faster than before, but not perfect yet either so i get a bog after 1/4 throttle, I am thinking about jumping the clip to the number 1 position.

Right now i have a 134 or 138 (cant remember) With the clip on the second notch and 1.75 turns out. Runs good, but i still cant get it to run perfect with no bogging or missing.

Thanks!

as in to position 1 or 3?

The filter runs fine without jetting, but the power increase with the jetting is unbelieveable. I just don't wanna lean anything out.

Moving the needle up will richen the mixture.

Moving the needle down will lean it out more.

simple thing to think about is, air and fuel need to match, if you go up in elevation the air is thinner, so you have to back the fuel down as well, if you add more are you will need more fuel, take some jets with you and adjust till you get the bike running its peak. often time needle clip and mains will do the trick, pilot only for extremes.
