2005 polaris scrambler

Default 2005 polaris scrambler

Hi all,
I have a scrambler that eats belts, wondering if there's adjustments or something more you could tell me...Only last about a year or so, 2nd belt.
first one broke driving around on dirt and last one was out in the about 6 to 8 inches of snow.

ANy input would be great...Thanks

Wish I could be of more assistance, however, I have absolutely NO experience in this arena.

atv connection has several different forums, some of which are specific to the polaris.

Might try them out too.

more then likely you have a secondary clutch that is out of adjustment, they have small shims to space them out and align with primary clutch. it however requires a tool which you may be able to barrow from your local dealer if you know them. are you using stock belts? have you inspected your clutch sheeves and made sure you dont have any grooves forming? one other thing is make sure your motor mounts are tight and that your motor doesnt move around on you, when you accelerate it causes the motor to pull on the belt. hope these items might help narrow it down. i have two scramblers and i have rebuild both essentially! i will help as much as i can!
