Default 1994 Polaris Problem

Hi! I have a 1994 Polaris 2x4 that has somewhat of a strange problem. It normally won't start, but if it does once it dies it won't start again. So we took it to a shop and they said it didn't have enough compression to start. So we were wondering if maybe its possible the reed valve? Input would be appreciated. Btw, if it is the reed valve, where is it located at? Thanks!

Sorry, but I have no idea on that one. Have you had a chance to pick up a manual for it??

You must be talking a 2-stroke though??

what was your compression reading? the 2 strokes after some time will need a rebuild of the top end, it includes often times new piston, rings, wrist pin bearing and new gaskets. the reeds are located on the small plate that is just before entering the intake side of the motor, if you pull the carb you will then be able to unbolt the intake and be able to view the reeds, more then likely it needs a rebuild not reeds, but its easy enough to check, however if your PSI was down low you prolly have rings bad.
