03 Trailblazer 250 not starting

Last time I rode my trailblazer in the mountains of Arkansas where I thrashed it through alot of puddles. Now in California, its been stored with fuel and oil in it. Cleaned the carb, new gas, new battery, new plug and it still wont start. The solenoid is clicking but it aint turning over. Figure its the starter. Cant seem to get to the starter as the belt cover is in the way (anyone know how to get the starter off). Pulled all bolts but cant seem to get the one above the starter next to the belt housing. When I pulled the bottom bolt, about a pint of water ran out. I know that this isnt good. Questions: Does this mean water is in the crankcase; Can I spray WD40 into the starter to displace any remaining water and lube it; Am I just gonna have to replace the starter (if so can anyone tell me how to take this off)? Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

ok, first yes your starter is prolly toast if it sat that long, you can spray it full of WD, you need to pull the recoil housing off, there is two or three bolts i cant remember as ine is a 400, i think its two from the outside and two from the inside as well. you should pull the case plug on the bottom of the case and see if any liquid comes out, if some does you may have a real issue as the moisture with all those bearings is not good! i dont have alot of knowledge of the 250's as the 400's im a mechanic most of the time.....check out [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], its nothing but scramblers and trailblazers....alot of guys on there that have way more knowledge then myself.
