Will a xr200 engine stuffed on a blaster beat a stock blaster???

welllll, do you know someone who has done it or wanting to know cause you want to i imagine the XR would probably take it. but all depends on what your doing? MX, drags, or what ever. blasters are a nimble little machine. i had one that took most 250r's and 450's on the track.

I am thinking of doing it. I can get a complete xr200 bike for 150 right now. I have a blaster without engine

i have a buddy that put a yz250 motor in one and it ran like mad! once he finally got the wheelie bugs worked out it was nice. youll have to help me out, do they have radiators? im more of the quad guy if you would explain how you think you want to do it, i can help you a little more from that. but yea they should fit. you may have to "adjust" the motor mounts where they will line up with motor, other then that, shouldnt be to bad.

I have a blaster frame. Kid has a complete xr200 he wants $150. I said ill let him know 2nite. I know i will have to make motor mounts. Its a 4stroke, no rad

that makes job a ton easier then. you would have had a time trying to make it fit. id go for it. worse comes to worse, it takes a while to get done. should be a real nice project quad. if you got a camera, take pics and post 'em up here for updates. be one fly ride

good choice! what year are both and do you have anything to done with the blaster frame? swingarm extended or anything? if not, i would look into getting a longer one, or a VITO's 2" extension. youll have to get a longer brake line if you do though. if ya need anything, let us know, we'll try to help out.

Its a 2003 blaster, +2 swingarm, Blaster axle ect. I use to race. Needed money and made big mistake of selling the engine thinking it would be easy to get another. But people want like 800 for stock. Thought id switch it up by getting dif motor. Make it different

motors out of a 82 xr200 Hurd the earlier ones were torque as a mofo

LMAO i knew they were you should be good with the s-arm like that. i had a few things done to mine when i had it (03 blaster) toomey full exaust and a few things to motor she screamed!

heck yea man! like i said, it will take some time to get it to go in, but the ending results will be well worth it! the '03 frames are definatly strong enough for it to. GIT 'ER DONE

I can get a ktm 300 1995 for 400. Runs and everything. Kid says has a crack in frame. Would that be a better swap???

I would think the stock blaster would be better off than if you put the XR engine in it.

A water cooled 2 stroke is gonna smoke a air cooled 4 stroke at the same cc's.

on that note, i would say do which you may think would be easier and more worth it. if you go to much, youll need a warrior or a 400 frame LOL go with what your better judgment will tell ya.

Im thinkin of getting the ktm for 400 the trade in is 1200. Ill clean it up and sell it lol Make money then get a 250cc or something for the blaster

have you looked on e-bay for motors? id look on there near your area and see what is available. i was looking all over the country for another quad. turns out there was one right under my nose.

Now that I looked at it. The Blaster is air cooled too, but I still couldn't see the 200 4 stroke engine having a edge.
