Default Wheel and tire size question

I found a set of Douglas red label 10x8 rear wheels for $35. My question is will a 20x11x9 tire fit on those? They should work won't they? :

I've been looking at tires and wheels so much my brain is fried.

So it's a 8" wheel, and not a 10"?

The wheels I'm looking at are 10" in diameter and 8" wide. Therefore 10x8. So, a 20x11x10 would fit. Anyone know? I suck at this.

No you want them at least 3" bigger so the bead holds well, and no more than 6". The stock I have now are 2" bigger.

This works. The way you listed it before you were trying to put a 9" tire on a 10" wheel, won't work.

Ok, that's what I thought. Wasn't sure. After staring at my computer screen at number for 3 hours they all look the same.

Not a bad deal either on the Douglas red label .190 Aluminum. If I could get something to work with them on my quad.

And thats $35 for the set brand new. :

Generally the following applies:

Wheels = Diameter X Width

Tires = Height X Width X Diameter

Any quad riders out there think that I should keep 9" on the rear instead of 10". What are the pros and cons?

Also most of my riding is done in the trails.

All of my riding is done at the dunes, so I cannot comment on dirt riding, however, I THINK that the smaller the wheel, the more sidewall flex if not changing the tire height??

I run 20X10X10s on my ATV's for the sand anyway.

Is the ten unches referring to height or width?

I've been thinking about going with a 23" in front and a 22" in the rear. I want the good clearance for the trails and woods, but I don't want to have to deal with sidewall blowouts like I just did.

My advice is to stick with 20s and get a tries with nasty treads, like the Razr 2

Razr2's won't fit on the 10x8 wheels. I'm leaning more towards the new ITP Holeshot HD's. These will fit, and have monster tread and 6ply.
