Default Got my axle

Just an interesting story. I was riding a couple of weeks ago and I met a kid who works at Rocky Mountain ATV (about 20 minutes from the track) and he mentioned that RMATV was working on making their own ATV axles, so I gave him my card and told him to call me when they were done. He called me tonight and said that if I could come down to Payson to get the axle he had one. I asked how much and it turned out to be free (a +2, +4 axle). I was so stoked. It was a prototype, so they're not available yet, but this one was dipped twice in chrome, which caused the splines for the hub to be too tight, so I just need to scrape some chrome off and it's as good as new. I just thought I'd share my little story. Stuff like this never happens to me. Now I've just got to get it installed and go try it out on the track.

Thats cool to hear that they are going to let you see how it works and all I think it will be pretty good just how rocky moutains parts and everything is I think they just keep adding to there reputation, because I have not heard one bad thing.

Thats a sweet deal. Hopefully you dont' do much trail riding with that thing. lol (could get jammed between 2 trees). My buddy put a +4 dura blue axle on his ATC 350x and he can't stand trail riding anymore.

Stick a wire wheel in a drill to clean those splines out Woody. Good luck and enjoy it.

I'll get some pics after it's installed. Thanks for the advice desert rat. Also I never trail ride, so the extra width shouldn't be a problem. The axle is adjustable also, so if I wanted it narrower, it would only be 2" wider than stock.

Thats awesome! I put a durablue on my trike, and it has to be adjust all the way out to get the hub to fit. When you only have one wheel going, and a solid axle thats 4 inches bigger, the handling really goes down the drain..Oh well it still works. BUt thats cool that you get a "one off" prototype. Rockymountain is soo awesome, sweet deals, and they seem to have some very kind, passionate people working for them..

I'm planning dunes trips the next two weekends, so I don't see a good reason to put it on yet, especially since I may end up needing some parts for it, as it is missing the hub that holds the sprocket.
