Going to st.george next week.

Question.....

My bike's plug looks good. It dies if the RPM's are up high and i put in the clutch it just stops. Starts/Idles fine, it does run VERY well though doesn't have a problem off the line or high or mid throttle only complaint it dies when I'm high in the RPM range and let the clutch in.

Is it my Air Mixture?

Ronnie

Yet, you can shift in lower RPM's (pull in the clutch) without a problem? That's weird.

Well.....

Yes at low RPMS it is okay but at high redline and pull the clutch in it dies i can start it easy though.

Would that be air mixture or it running lean.

btw Shifting has nothing to do with it. Just pulling in the clutch is when it dies i can lug it around fine.

it might have a slite problem with how it idles.

I wonder if a clogged air filter would do it? It didn't have this problem until this work was done to it. I think i need to reset the settings like the dynojet instructions say ....

Does it pop or anything? Can you run it up to high RPM's, then let itself idle back down and no issues?

It runs perfect minus the fact that the damn thing when I pull the clutch in just dies. Lets say from 2,000 - Redline. I noticed the K&N PowerLid was very dirty so I got my recharger kit out and am currently cleaning it. The very tip of my plug looks a little WHITE I remember before it was darker. I wonder if i just need to go up to the next size jets in eatch carb the jets and everything are how it was before I did all of this stuff. You would think that doing all of this stuff would require more fuel .....

Am I correct?

No popping or Studdering or anything. I can run it to redline go first through 5th gear and lets say i'm going 10mph and pull the clutch in in 3rd gear 50% of the time it will die.

I know that they didn't change any jets all they did was screw with the screw on the outside of the carb.

Depending on the port work, you could and usually do go smaller on the jetting.

My CRF was at a 178 main, and now I use a 170.

Smaller jet after getting port work? That seems backwards to me...please explain.

I was hoping to make it down there for the 4th, but my in-laws decided they needed to come up here so my wife doesn't want to go down now . My dad and brother will most definetly be out there though. Do you have a pic of your Raptor? I'll tell my bro to watch for you dragging and see how you do against the other bikes out there. If you beat a white YFZ with an American flag on it that has a Ron Woods pipe let me know. I'll have my bro bring out "Ol Red" and see how you run against that .

FYI .. we'll be out at Little Sahara this weekend. If your going down let me know.

They didn't even change the spark plug so I don't know if it is even jetted correctly. Im going to go home after work and make sure the carbs are set correctly. You don't think I need higher octane gas do you?
