Google for "raptor oversized valves".

Maybe I missed this in one of these posts but the hotcam stage2 cam does in fact require a stiffer spring kit. The reason for sending in the head would be because it requires the center intake valve guide to be cut down. Due to the increased valve lift the cam provides, the valve keeper would come in contact with the valve guide if it's not machined down. Again, sorry if this has already been posted, but I would hate to see someone drop in a stage 2 cam and have catastrophic engine failure.

Update

05/31/05

South Valley finally got the motor apart, found the top cap on the left carb to be cracked which was why I noticed it ran like crap.

They reported the 3 intake valves needed to be replaced. I told them to also replace the other 2 valves as I don't want 3 of 5 to be new I want them all to be. They also had to get valve stem gaskets for me as I forgot to get them.

Other than that we are on track after 160 dollar problem for 1 stinking cap!!!!

So I guess everything pretty much has been replaced in the motor.

Ronnie

Yeah, the valve stem oil seals are poor on the raptor. I had to replace mine.

You can hope so, but I doubt it. Since I replaced them with OEM I'm sure they will be about the same good.

They say next week 6th - 10th.

Due to the broken carb cap that almost set me back a little bit.
