If you look on that link I gave you it has connecting rods, etc. which of course I can also get. I wish I knew the answers to your questions as to how to build it all, but unfortunately I don't and I'd hate to tell you something and it not work. I would do the research and if I can help you out on parts, I will do so, as I try to help anyone locally out that I can, as I don't need to make much money off the parts as I have no overhead.

You will definitely need a new head gasket. Looks like a cometic top end gasket kit is $58.90 retail, so I could probably get it to you for around $48 (don't have a price list in front of me).

By the way, don't feel like you have to buy anything from me. If I can save you a couple bucks that's great, but I don't want you thinking I'm helping you out to make some money.

I don't feel like that at all. I've got cash in hand or credit card or whatever. I'm just interested in having the parts asap as I've got to know what to tell the machine shop. I don't know if I really need a new connecting rod thou.

My guess is the connecting rod will be around $105, the top end gasket kit $48 and the piston $125. I know the piston is $125 as I bought one today for my brothers CRF and they are all the same price. I'll find out prices for sure tomorrow, but I think those prices will be pretty close. Grand total = about $280 plus tax. I'm not sure if you need the connecting rod either, but it seems you may want a stronger one (as the hot rod is a heavier duty than stock) to handle the higher compression, but once again the dealership or machine shop should be able to tell you that. I'll let you know tomorrow afternoon on my findings and if you decide to go ahead, I'll get them ordered and they should be here on Monday.

Not sure, the name doesn't ring a bell, however if I saw him I would probably recognize him.

Yeah, I thought that was interesting that it is a different part # for the '01. I'll talk to you tomorrow afternoon on this and we'll get the ball rolling.

Think you can have her all back together before next weekend? We're thinking of heading up and camping. I don't know if I can ride yet or not, but I go to the Dr. on Monday. If I can ride, it won't be anything serious as my collar bone still hurts a little.

WOW, you two are really chatting...

Just my opinion, but JE are better then wisco. They are made by the same company, but JE are usually a little more pricey (unless your buying from my bro), and have tighter tollerances, which means more power.

Just FYI, as well. When you get that after market piston, make sure you WARM it up before you go hauling off up the hill or you WILL cease it.

Sounds like fun, but it still won't beat my CRF

I lived in St.George for 12 years and I don't for the life of me know/remember where that is. If it is close to st.george and it is a sand dune then sure i'll be going there

Lindsays said 300 for the port/polish. 150 for the valves and 55 for the bore/home.

It's about 10-15 miles outside of St. George and yes it is sand dunes and a lake (they just built the lake 1-2 years ago). You head north on I-15 and take the Hurricane exit. Head toward Hurricane and the turn off to Sand Hollow is just past the turn off to Quail Creek. There is a Chevron on the opposite side of the turn off to Sand Hollow. You've probable seen the dunes your entire life if you lived down there that long. As your coming down from Cedar City it's all that red sand you can see a head of you on that small mountain.

There are always a lot of drag races going on down there too. It'd be a good chance for you to run your Raptor and TRX in a flag drag. There is a nice drag strip in the sand there. I may just be down there my self for the 4th.
