why can i start my bike with out the decompressoin lever

i havent been on my bike in a almost a 6 months, so yesterday i went to start it 5-6 kicks fires right up then i relized i didnt use decomp. its harder to kick than a 2stroke but i dont rember it being that easy once its started it runs great. i just checked the valves tonite one exhuast valve was alittle loose but not enough to make a differnce. am i worried for no reason?
the bikes a 04 ktm 450 sx top end has 31 hours on it

What do you mean the decomp? Your bike shouldn't have a decompression lever. I had a very good riding buddy with an '03 KTM450SX and his had a hot start lever.

When cold you shouldn't need to use it at all.

So, no you shouldn't be worried. You should be thrilled, it's started how it's supposed to.

I'm with Woody, that's a hot start not a decomp lever.
