Default Strange Noise

on my klx 125 when ever i down shift to first gear and have the clutch pulled in a rubbing like sound comes from the clutch i think or maby the tranny its sounds kinda like a berring is going out and it only does it in first gear and when i am rolling fast

so what do u think it might be and how to fix it with out taking it to the dealer?

and it sounds like it is coming from the left side when u sit on it so i dont no if it is the clutch?

hmm, the left side when sitting on it, wouldn't be the clutch.

I'm not too educated on the trannies (never had to tear one apart yet), so hopefully one of the smart ones will see this and add some wisdom.

Are you sure the noise is coming from the trans?

It could just be the chain is too loose and is slapping the swing arm or frame.

I would adjust the chain so that it has the proper amount of slack

your owner's manual should tell you how to set it properly

how is the chain guide on the swingarm?

He just said he can't adjust it any more.

Change the chain, or you'll be changing the chain and maybe some cases if you're not lucky.

Ok, when you say you can't tighten it anymore,

do you mean the chain is as tight as possible

or the chain is still loose and the adjustments are all the way out

either way it is not good,

but the first one would just require you to readjust it properly

the second you will need to replace the chain
