IMO, VP fuels are the best. In my street car if I want to turn up the boost VP C16 is the best all around choice.

If memory serves
VP C12 = 108 octane
VP C16 = 116 octane
VP Import = 120 + octane

If you have to have a Oxygenated fuel, go with Q16 which is the same as C16 (roughly)

For a car, race gas is alot of money, but for a bike, it should be much more affordable.

Good luck, there are alot of choices.
VP
Sunoco
Torco
But from my experiance, VP is the best

VP Ultimate 4.2. Oxygenated, 102 Octane and worth at least three hp over
pump gas.

The only downside is it is not legal for AMA pro racing due to the
oxygenation and it is not available in states that control MTBE (like CA).
VP offers U4.2e for the MTBE challenged folks.

Good advice. 102 octane is probably great plenty for most applications, and will burn slow enough to avoid detonation.
Coming back from the car world, im used to C16 ect, which is would be overkill for bikes.

As far as shipping to Cali, Im not sure on that one.
Good luck

Check out there website: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Click on the "worldwide distribution" icon. That will lead you to your
local distributor (VP Pacific) and a list of local dealers, any of whom
can answer your questions.

I know CA is super strict on this kind of stuff. When I lived there, I
couldn't even trade my old 49 state VP cans for CA cans because
the caps and spouts weren't approved.

Try running your stock jetting first, do some plug chops and see where you
are.

If you run oxygenated fuel, you will undoubtedly have to jet up accross the board... That is unless you were running it pig rich. As far as oxygenated fuel best bang for the buck??? VP MS103. U4.2 is great but pricey. Oh and you do not have to run Oxygenated fuel because of your mods... Higher octane perhaps. The YZ250f run 13:1 and run on pump gas.
