I bought an '06 KX450F about three weeks ago. Previously I had an '04 KX250. When I come into a low RPM corner with the clutch in, the bike will stall if I am not working the throttle. It doesn't matter what gear I am in. As a result I can't use my front brake because I am giving it gas. I've also coasted over the lip of a jump and had it stall in the air unless I blip it. Not sure if there is something wrong with my bike or if I just need to ride faster. Thanks.

Riding faster will help, but I would also check the float height, pilot jet/ fuel screw and idle speed. I see a lot of guys that have their idles turned way down. These aren't Harleys, a good idle IMHO is around 1800-2000 rpms.

I agree with the Baron, I would go a step further and say start with the float height and then go for a full jetting session for the scoot. Just change one variable at a time so you know what is making the difference and write down what changes you make. The fuel screw and idle screw setting baron mentioned should come in as a part of this. One other thing is to get a factory shop manual for your bike. It will help you tremendously with all the maintenance tasks and future work on major systems. Best of luck with the KX, they are great bikes, I rode one that the sales manager sat our favorite shop owns and loved the power and handling. Bill

I see you're from NC. What are the temps there compared to where the bike was previously. I know here in Oklahoma I have to pay attention to my GYTR fuel screw as the winter temps change. It's one of those things I sometimes overlook until I'm out on the course and feel the bogging.

The bike has always been in NC. The top end was rebuilt when I bought it.

I third the check your float level. It sounds like it's not set correctly and thus when the bike rpm gets too low their is not enough low pressure in the venturi to pull the gas from the fuel/float bowl.

Woody makes a good point with the pressure in the bowl, checking yur float level is quick and easy. After that i would check your idle and air screw to make sure there within specs.
