Got my new FMF Q2 but I think its broken

OK I had a White Bros R4 on my 2002 426 and it gave ma a head ache. sounded good just loud. put the stocker back on as my local area is a little close to houses and they get up tight about noise. So I just bought a new FMF Q2 put it on today and went for a ride... It sounds good real good actualy but same as the stocker as far as noise level goes. Not Quiet. but sounds good... did I say it was not quiet.

I think all they are aiming for is to be be below 96db or something like that.

I havent had a sound check yet. we will see.... sounds like 98-99ish to me. I expected it to be a noticeable difference. anyone out there got one in use? comments......

I thought they guaranteed the Q2's to be under 96 dB?

You probably just sold me on a complete FMF Q2 system for the 426. I ride MX but want to ride responsibly. Who knows I might return to Hare Scrambles in the SETRA series . My T-4 is loud and even with the performance gains I cannot use everything my bike has. Nice report, could you tell us what jstting changes you made, if any? Thanks.

Hey glad to here it. One way to think of it is.... I have bought the quietest system I could find and it still sounds sweet. And I agree with you it makes more power than I can use 99% of the time. I searched for info posted as much as I could find and setteled on thr Q2. I did not change my jetting yet and it seems to run real good. I did have it set up for a White bros witch is pretty much WFO on the inside.

Does anyone know if the Megabomb header will fit on the Q2 ti exhaust? The Megabomb is supposed to lower sound as well so i can have the quietest header and exhaust pipe

Well I have not had a sound check yet BUT my friends say it is much quieter than before.... They should know cus there always behind me Anyway I am happy with it. quiet sounds cool

I bought 2003 YZ250F about a month ago. I never heard it run with the stock exhaust. I had the FMF Q2 put on prior to purchase. I've been told that it does sound quieter. I had a friend take it down a wooded trail and it didn't sound bad at all. BTW I also did the same for my son's YZ125, it is conciderably quieter. It had FMF shorty. I was hoping to find an exhaust system like the milatary uses on those stealth bikes you see in the movies.

They do make one for the two strokes. Its called the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Here is a [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] of it.
