Default Dr. D radiator lowering kit

Anyone running a Dr. D radiator lowering kit on their YZF250/450? Does it improve the YZF cornering much.

DR D> and APPLIED RACING both recommended running it and 24mm offset triple clamps.

I guess Dubach does the testing for Applied and they produce his rad. lowering kit.
phone calls and e-mails today to both this is what I was advised.

I ran them on a 06 yammie, and it did make a differance. You will have to be carefull that the radiator doesn't sit on the exhaust header pipe. You may have to get a low boy bend header pipe.

Yeah. I was wondering about that. Doesn't look like much to install, but didn't see how it would keep the radiator off the pipe.

upon further review...you have to run a lower head pipe on the 450 to run the rad. lowering kit. so that greatly increases the price.

I guess I'll just try to sit on the gas cap in the corners more.

WHAT!!!??? you guys don't have torches?

I am kind of funny, if I am going to be on packed corners, I really prefer to have a full tank. More than the weight on the wheel, I just feel better knowing the fuel wont be splashing forward. I saw a roadrace tank years and years ago with a bunch of baffles in it. I don't know if it works, but if you ever drove tank trucks, you will really prefer a baffled tank.

Andy, we run a foam in our roadrace tanks. It is a very low density, and I not only run it in the RS tank, but the CR as well. Tdub

Mark was telling me about how back in the day that when you went to roadraces there was always fuel on the ground in the first corner. Some guy named 'Mert' warned him off that. Anyway, one of those things you learned was to run wider if you werent there really early.

I need some of that FOAM!!
