I use 32:1. I like my piston to last.

40:1 in 250 and above, 32:1 in a 125

32:1 in a 125 for sure. In my CR125 the piston/rings are near a year old, but the bike still starts first kick, barely smokes, and runs like a champ. And that is with Mobil MX2T at a 32:1 ratio.

I say stick with 32:1. Provides sufficient lubrication even when being highly revved. I would rather go through oil quicker rather than replace top-ends soon or risk seizures. Just my 2 cents!

Some oils are also more concentrated than others-like amsoil. So I run at 40-42:1

I know someone who claims he runs 100:1 with amsoil. I personally do not care about the concentration, just to be safe, regardless of oil, im going to run 32:1 in my 250, when I pick it up on Friday. Too much oil cannot hurt anything, but it can make excessive carbon/goo deposits places where you dont want them. Too little oil will cause more wear than with too much oil, but it will require less cleaning. I wouldnt run less oil than found in 36:1 in a 125, or less than 40:1 in a 250. I like 32:1 mixture also because its exactly 4 ounces to the gallon. However 40:1 is also an easy ratio for those who buy gas in 5 gallons at a time because its exactly half a quart to be mixed. | 32:1 One thing i noticed is that the packing started falling apart immediatly after i started using mx2t. my guess is that it dissolves the resin that the silencer packing is made out of. anyone else have this problem? keep this in mind if you use a spark arrestor. |

I have been using mx2t for a long time and never had that problem.. I dont really scream my bike to much, so thats my reason for 42:1..

Where does this "some oils are more concentrated" BS come from? Because that's exactly what it is: BS. Oil is oil. There's no "concentrating" it or anything of the sort. There are different additive packages, and they can be added in varying levels, but this notion that some oils are more concentrated than others is pure bunk.

I have been running mobil1 synthic 2 cycle oil for 5 years now since i got my first 125 2 stroke and have put it in all 3 of my 250 2 strokes i have had, and never had a problem. Everytime I have done a top end on one of them it always seems that the crank shaft has always had a little bit of a film on it from the oil. To me that seems really good that it clings like that. And i have always ran it 35:1. I Think it is a great oil.

I use Mobil at 40:1 on my KX250, no issues. AMSOil states on the bottle to mix at 100:1, but I've never used it. Pre-mix isnt pre-mix, meaning they arent all the same. Some are 100% petroleum based, some are a blend and some are 100% synthetic. Some burn dirty and some burn clean. AMSOil & Mobil are 100% synthetic....they lubricate better and burn cleaner. Not certain if ALL 100% synthetics are better or not than some of the half-breeds, etc, but I know these 2 are top notch.

100:1 is CRAZY, better off running straight gas! Amsoil suggests 50:1, and I run Amsoil Interceptor in my Rm 125, and I wouldn't dare run 50:1 in a 125, so I stick with 32:1. |

Amsoil 100:1 is designed for outboards that don't rev that high, are much larger engines, and are run at a much more stable rpm. Even Amsoil does not recommend more than 50:1 in a MX bike!!!!!!! And the owner's manual for my Ryobi weedwacker says 32:1, I use Mobil 1 mx2t at 32:1 in the Ryobi and both bikes.
