you can change your power band where and how hard it hits by adjusting the power valve. How you do it though depends on what bike you ride. I no how to do it on ktm what do u ride?

What kind of manuel do you have? if its worth a $%#$ it should at least show the powervalve assembly in it to where you could figure out how to adjust it.

there is a section about exhaust vavles but all the manual cares about is disassemble, inspection, cleaning and reassembly.

may b this will help you i just did a google search and found this its for a 94 but i imagine there similar
Power Valve Adjustment
i just bought my first bike a 94 rm 125 ,how do you adjust the power valve?

There is a small cover on the left side of the cylinder (as you’re sitting on the bike). The cover is held on by two small screws. And has a round opening in the middle. Loosening the two screws will allow you to turn the slotted round part in the middle. This adjustment is for the power valve return spring. Turning this slotted cover clockwise will increase the tension on the spring holding the valve shut. This makes the valve open at a higher rpm. Soooo…. Turning the slotted cover ccw will loosen the tension on the spring making the power valve open at a lower rpm. Move the cover in ½ turn increments.

sorry for bringing back a dead post but, if i turn this round dial to adjust my power valve it doesn't move them right? i just want the spring to be looser so the valves open sooner so theres a little more bottom, turning this dial wont move the power valves closer to the piston will it?

you should be good just make for sre there is a little tension on that spring, I know this because I had no tension on the spring the valve just stayed closed.

Loosen the screws, and back the adjuster off. Turn the knob clockwise until it just has tension. The factory spec is one full turn from there. I run mine at 1/2 turn. Whatever, don't turn it more than about 1 1/2 turns, as you may damage the spring.
