Alright, this happened with my tractor a few days ago. I bought a new coil and it didnt help, turned out being the wire from the kill switch to the distributer was disfunctional.

Hardleydangerous is dead on. You can do a lot of expensive swap and pray work, but that gets expensive quickly. Buy a service manual if you don't have one and check the compenents before replacing them.

Good luck!

I had the no-spark problem recently. The spark plug Boot was worn and not making good contact. I bought a universal type NGK one at the moto-shop for $2.40 plus tax. Fixed! I took the boot off and tested the high tension lead (plug wire) with a spark tester and sure enough I had spark, so that is how I knew it was the boot. The part # was LB05F
