Default foot peg bling

I just order some foot peg bling for my '06 YZ 144 I got those pegs that rotate by power pegz. Can't wait to try them out they used to be really exspensive at $199 when they first came out now they are only $109. I hope I don't hate'em. I don't really hear anyone talk about them much.

I'll be curious to see what you think. I had to go and look for them because I didn't have a clue what they are. They look...interesting.

Oh yea I'll definetly tell ya what I think about them I don't know when I'll get them soon within a week.

I don't think i'll have'em come this thursday nights Arenacross practice at monroe. The design of the peg makes sense to me to me it directly relates to my BMX ridding, Think about it on a bike the peg rotates 360. Now when you lean on the peg it moves with your foot this should help alot when say you jump nose end to high or leaned way back over the rear.

I want to see what they feel like ridding threw some whoops myself.

Well I got them today in the mail and mounted them on the bike yea they rotate but not as freely as bicycle pedal does they was kinda loose out of box so I tighten them up alittle bit.

Observations yea they are heavier then stock but not out right so besides it weight carried low won't feel it. they are strudy looking and wider then stock also.

I kinda just played around sitting on the bike and on the stand moving my feet around this should be really interesting to ride. Never have I before been able to move the peg down to the brake lever nor down n under the shift lever. It felt kinda off at first but it seems to be more of a passive style system plus I noticed it alittle more in my shoes boots won't be as noticable.

This is going to change ridding style some I can tell all ready i'm gonna be able to place my feet in different positions and get better body english/leverage. Man why does it have to be so rained out here in WA right now I might break down and go do that harescramble race out at reiters just to get to ride on them.

They sound interesting to say the least. Be sure and post a further review after some seat time is put in.

Anyone think of "Rolled Ankles, or broken ankles"?I dont know about you guys, but I land pretty hard, And I dont want any flex in that area. Looks like more dis than advantages.

No rolled ankles etc happen more on foot pegs cause they are solid and don't move. Ever jammed your ankle on the edge of the foot when leaned back off the back of the bike to far go threw whoops and you couldn't get you feet back on the top platform totally. These foot pegs would of allowed for more give/ movement. cuase istead of being flat like this --- all the time they would of moved. Would of had more surface area for my foot to land on.

Well I finally got to test ride them today went out to eastern WA hit up Richland ORV park for the MX track. This track is run by the county so it doesn't get alot of maintence in terms of grooming. It's a sandy usually rough track that is always pretty choppy.

First off if you just ride like normal and don't think about the pegs moving it feels normal the pegs rotate but it's like a stiff slow rotation. First session I went out was just get comfortable on them. I slight jammed my ankle the first lap out no it wasn't bad just alittle painful just said don't do that again. I think it was just me getting use them cause it only happen again once more and it was lesser of a jar. As the day went on it didn't happen again I got more comfortable.

There is this long straight away that gets really rough towards the end the braking bumps get some big they are nearly whoop sized the last two are.
Before the pegs evertime I hit the last two it always kick the rear end up and like throw me forward.

With the power pegz in place be the end of the day I was hitting them harder then I have ever before and the last two didn't kick me as hard. Acceleration bumps braking bumps and whoops and jumps with kickers on the face all become much easier.

I was able to stand in the natural attack position much longer the bike would work under me rocking back n forth the bumps and whoops felt smoother especially when I smacked into the face of a whoop that had a square edge or something that would normally kick you off the pegs or something. No way not with these pegs I was hitting them harder n harder lap after lap. I was finally able to double double out the last 3 sets. I don't seem to notice them in turns though. But that fact that it made the square edge's smoother and it did reduce the jarring was totally worth it.

So far so good i'm liking them I was rather skepitcal at first but not so much anymore I can't believe how it made the bike feel plusher.

Wow, that is very interesting. I guess they really would act as a sort of shock, because they will give, when others won't.

Do they have a stop? Meaning is their a point that they stop rotating? It seems like they would, but I had to ask.

Great report and I'm glad to hear you like them. I'm also glad to hear they are wider. Wider is always nice

Yea they don't rotate all the way around just 20 degree's in either direction I like how you don't really notice it when ridding as far as the moving. I only noticed it when I intentionally / think about it.

How much wider are they? Do they give you a nice platform like a set of Fastways?

I think I'd be interested in a set, but I'm not sure I wanna drop that coin on a set of pegs... it would seem photography has my interest at the moment..

They are wider then stock like a good 10 mm's nice platform no problem there with them. the stock pegs like fit inside them I say they compare more to the IMS pegs in size close to the fastways. The fastways just seem wider cause they are more square then round at the tips. The power pegz have more teeth.

This weekend I think i'll go try them indoors oh ya and big jump landing where not a problem I was hitting this huge 100 foot table all day on them it's a pretty hard landing no problem like before.

Update:

I rode an indoor bout a week ago on them and well after 2 practice sessions I took them off and put the stockers back on. It wasn't like I was all out of control with the power pegz and I now blame more myself that night then the pegs.

It felt like the pegs or the added flex to the feel felt alittle off to me for the tight indoors. I was struggling with this wierd rhythm section it wasn't blitzable and it wasn't really double/double. I will say that within the first couple laps of being back on the normal pegs I could feel more jolts to my ankles the ride was plusher feeling with the power pegs. I could do the section with both sets of pegs on felt to me alittle better on the stockers but I hit harder stuff on the power pegz outdoor so i'm kinda at a loss right now what it was. I also want to say that this was my first time on an indoor track in quite a few months def not my first time but I just felt off on my ridding that night. It could be these pegs rock on an outdoor track but suck indoors. More time is needed to confrimed exactly what I was feeling or not it could of just been in my head.
