Default EZ pull clutch

I did a lot of searching around and didn't find much on this. I'm wondering if anyone has used the MSR or Moose ez pull clutch levers and systems. They say they are for all bikes. One is for the lever and perch, the other has to do with you cable and linkage.
here are some links.

The moose ez pull lever is great. I have been running it on all my bikes for over a year. The moose system that connects inline is junk and will break in no time.

Cool, is the pull easy enough to use a shorty lever?

I use the MSR easy pull clutch with the shorty lever and absolutly love it! My fore arm is much happier at the end of the day also. Helps to reduce arm pump and fatigue. Now I don't like riding my sons 250 because his does not have one.

You can always just drill another hole in the lever for the cable to go into, so that you can get more mechanical advantage on the pull. Makes it super easy to pull a lever if you do that.

I have used the in line easy pull for two years with out any suck glitch. I can't even imagine how it could break to be honest. It is a lever with two separate connection points for more leverage.

I bought the MSR EZ pull and installed it. Seems to run smooth. I only have to pull it in half way. My question is, with the clutch cable being pulled farther being on the furthest hole is the clutch enganged slightly at all times.

My clutches are engaged fully all the time, that is unless I pull in the clutch. You just need to make sure it disengages when pulled and fully engages when released with at least a dimes with of play between perch and lever.

The easiest pull is going to be in the hole closest to the pivot point.

I would think it would be the one furthest from the pivot? Leverage principle-further from the fulcrum.

Your leverage is best when the fulcrum is closer to the object being levered.
Like using a prybar to pull a nail. The fulcrum is right next to the nail. Not farther down the prybar's length some where.

Agree with the statement fully just I have the Moose and it works from the side you pull from not the side being pulled. I guess the MSR is different in that respect.

Its on a 97 kx 125, same cable.

I have it on the hole closest to the handle bar, that seems to work the best, but I just checked it and I do have to give it some slack to give a bit more play.

Hi, I been reading this thread, and saw krzywhiteboy's comment about drilling another hole in the clutch lever to make it much more easier to pull it in... I would be interested in trying this trick... Because the clutch on my bike is kind of hard... But can you please tell me where I have to drill the hole... If you have any pictures, or just a explanation, it will be appreciated. Thanks!!

I don't have any pictures of this but I can explain it. It is a trick that my dad taught me when I was a kid. Basically you just drill a second hole a bit further out than the stock hole. Find a drill that..........ehhhh nevermind when I get home from work tonite I will pull the lever off of one of my old bikes and take a picture with my phone. It will explain everything.

Some people have said that this could weaken the leaver, I however do not think so. I have been doing this as long as I have ridden which is about 20 years and my dad has done it on everything from Harleys to his Jawa, it was his Jawa in the late 60's or early 70's that he started doing it on. When he passed last year and his club was presenting me with his Harley I noticed that those levers were that way too, so theres about 40 years of doing it with no broken lever. I have broken numerous bones in crashes over the years and lots of levers but none in that spot. My assistant was telling me that he saw a how to on a different forum. I will search over there and maybe I can find it.
