Does anybody have any recomindations for places to go check out at Glamis? I have a 327ci '67 corvette engine that is bored out .60 over with a mild cam and lots of other neat stuff along with some change in gearing, posi, etc. It is pushing out around 400hp. I'm ready to race anytime ! What is done to your camaro RS KXdude258?

Well by exhaust valve you mean powervalves. I would think you would need the whole powervalve assembly.

Man, what happened to your bike to warrant all of the work going into it?

NO idea, i was just riding along, and the oustide of the cylinder crakced, so it started leaking radiator fluid..the cycle shop worked on it 2 wks before so i took it back and asked them if they could fix it. They said nothing was wrong on their part of the fix, and i needed a new cylinder and exhaust valve. they want 700 to fix it right after i just put 700 into it. So i said screw that and am trying to find parts and my neighbor said he will fix it.. Is there any possible way to get me a part number for that? sorry this is kinda quick and there is some bad typing. im at school and had to hurry

Go to [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and click under the "Parts" link to find your model. If you know what hard parts you need you can look up the corresponding part number. Their prices are unbeatable for OEM Honda parts too. Good luck.

If you don't know what part you need, you're in a world of hurt and I probably wouldn't recommend you doing the job. Taking it to a shop sounds like a good idea. When you're at the shop ask them for a quote on some new powerbands as well. If the powervalve is shot, the bands might be pretty worn as well.

Ya wanna know what's funny? That pic in my post is your powervalve. As you can see there are many parts to choose from, so when you say you need a "power valve" you can see why we don't have the answers. I could just pick a number between 1 and 34, but I bet you'd be pretty upset when you found out it wasn't the right one.

You need help. Find a qualified mechanic or someone that knows what they're doing to help you. We really can't help you out much more than we have given the limited information. Good luck with your repairs.

Thats why im taking it to the shop. I figured there was a certain part that made up the 'valve'. And for the person who said that i need some new "powerbands" you are on crack. Im not stupid.

That was me and I beg to differ.

You fell for the power valve but the powerband got you all ruffled?

I think you KNOW what I meant. You are just trying to make me look dumb. I have never worked on a two-stroke, so i wasnt sure if there was an actual part that made up the 'valve' or whatever is in there. Im 15, not a mechanic!

Hey mattb89,

Don't take it personal, I was just joking with you. I'm glad you took it to a mechanic. Let us know what he said. I hope you get your bike running soon. It's no fun hearing about broken down bikes on ATM. Also, when i was 15 I didn't know a rachet from a racket. So, you're way ahead of me. Good luck with your bike and I hope to see some pictures of your tearing it up on your stead in the3 near future.

If you go to the bottom of this link it will explain how powervalves work and what can go wrong with them. This site is a good resource if you want to learn how your two stroke works.
