Default Compression

I just did a compression test on my bike. It was 190. It was 5 above the limit specified in the manual. Is this a bad thing? Within the last month I put a new crank and bearings/seals and top end in it. The top end has about 10 hours or so on it.

being above the limit is not too bad of a thing, however it is not a good thing either. I would ride it a couple more times and see if it goes down. if not you might have the rings in upside down.

The instructions that came with the Wiseco piston say the rings can go in either way. The last few pistons I have put in do not have the metal rings. I have no idea what they are made of.

It should be fine. Unless you spent MAJOR bucks on the compression gauge it is probably off by 5-10 pounds. They are notoriously inaccurate. I wouldn't worry about it.
