Just pick a colour and go!

I would recommend looking at the YZ or KTM or RM.

They were the standouts in the years you mentioned.

Default Well...

... buy any color is not really what I'm after. I have a big ol' thumper now (YZ400). I'd say I'm KTM-biased but I'd buy a Yammie because it's a Yammie. Thing is, I'm not sure if a KTM is anything for me. I read somewhere that they were "not for beginners" and that kinda freaks me out - but hey, if the thumper takes me round tha track a 125 of any breed would. Thing is, I want a agile bike with lots of suspension. Yammie's are fine but the KTMs feel narrower and actually cooler. So, I'm leaning towards KTM - am I way off here?

If you can ride the 400 you would do fine on the KTM even.

ya you would and getting the KTM 125 would be a great idea because its a ready to race bike no need really to upgrade anything like the other bikes but if you want good suspension and control i would go wit the yammaie because i have the 03 125 and that thing is so smooth in control and suspension so smooth the engine 2 is great maybe you can find one that already has a pipe on it and your basically set
