bad coil

i have a 99cr250 and i dont have much spark at all. some times it week and some times it's ok. it wont start rigth now and i think thats whats wrong with it . what do u all think . thanks ever one

Might want to check to see that the kill switch is not damaged. These can get broken in a wreck and then intermittantly ground out the spark.

Also check the plug wire and boot. Unscrew the boot from the wire and cut a little off the wire then screw the cap back onto the wire. Check the condition of the interior of the boot.

In my 28 years of riding dirt bikes, I have yet to see a major electrical component fail - it's almost always something minor like a connection or two.

well i layed it down prety hard other day ill check. the spark sucks i took the coil off abd hit it with a wire brush and it seemed to help . ill check the kill switch later to day . thanks
