Another Kick Start Problem/ Kicks back

I have a 01 CR250 that runs great, but now when I kick it, it kicks back! It will kick over sometimes fine, but then it will stop and shoot the kick start back up. When it starts, it runs fine. Compression is fine. We did have some major floding in GA and the bike went through some deep water, but everthing so far has checked out...oil etc. The kicker is rubbing the frame a little, but always has. Any ideas?

This is usually associated with electrical problem, more specifically,
timing. Since your bike has a computer controlled CDI, I'm guessing
water got into your ignition through the notoriously porous Honda
ignition cover. Try removing the cover and the flywheel and blast
the components with compressed air, then finish with a water
displacing chemical like WD40. If the problem persist, you will need
to break out the multi meter and test everything against the specs.

hadn't considered the electrical system, i figured it was motor related. Thanks, i'll pop off the cover and take a look and let you know what I find,
