My motivation for trying it at 80:1 was that it is advertised at 100:1 so I figured 80:1 would be on the safe side. In addition, the thought of a cleaner burning bike was appealing. I was suprised by the high ratio advertised which is why I started this thread. I wanted to hear about some real world experience. I've always ran synthetic at lower ratio's (32:1). From now on I'm going to stick to the lower ratio no matter what the bottle says. I'm still running synthetic in this bike but a different brand.

I wasn't trying to make light of anyone's choices just my experience. Here's a old article on the subject.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]It's a PDF download of an old Cycle magazine article towards the bottom of the page.Dyno tested on a PE250 Suzuki. There's a lot of good stuff on that page. The test is with Castor oil which is still the benchmark for hot rod smoker lubrication.

Oh and BTW I run 32:1 in my YZ465 using Bel-Ray H1R.Simply because Bel-Ray says it's fine to run it at that ratio.Amsoil never answered my question about suitable ratios.

I finally took the time to read the article myself and it was nothing short of interesting and revealing.

He also brought up the different additive packages for normal (non-castor) oils, which is why I'm guessing you (TRexRacing) are not using the amsoil -- since you can't be assured that running 32:1 with any amsoil product won't produce adverse affects in the form of varnish and unwanted deposits.

Hmm, this has really got me wondering now since I, at this moment in time, have 2 gallons of Amsoil Saber mixed @ 32:1 sitting in my garage (just mixed yesterday). I think I'll be fine burning that oil up in my weed eater and son's KX65 until it's gone (I'm not sure my cheap self will allow me to not use it), but I'm going to more than likely switch to a different product that's readily available to me locally that I can safely run at lower gas/oil ratios.

Kevin, where did you get the Mobil 1 oil from? I used to be able to get it from AutoZone, but I can't seem to find it now. I'll have to check wal-mart next time I'm there and see if they have it.

Oh and TDub, if you are still following this, what ratio would you recommend for a KX65? I know you have a LOT of experience with these little rockets.

The reason the 465 gets Bel-Ray is Amsoil didn't answer my questions as to suitability for premix at 32:1.The pictures I posted were using Amsoil Interceptor in my RZ with an injection pump set up for a heavy load of oil.I've nothing against Amsoil,in fact I like it and use it in my Jeep and a couple of other bikes I have.

pssssttt......I am considering using [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] in the RZ without the pump.

Unfortunatly I can't find it any more either..

I stocked up when I heard they were going to discontinue it.

Ahh that's what I was afraid of.. oh well, I guess I'll see what my bro can get me. I think Maxima is one of the products. I don't really want to use caster oil though.

Ive been running the amsoil dominator at 32:1 in a 99 Kx250. The amsoil site recomends a 50:1 ratio. Im just wondering if anyone has ran it at at this ratio? I dont want to run my bike lean and blow it up but I am getting splooge out of the tail pipe at 32:1.

Just an update. I did a little research and decided to use the Maxima Super M. I went out and bought some oil and will run it as soon as the AmsOil is gone. They say on the back that you can safely run it anywhere from 20:1 - 50:1 -- I will be running it 32:1.
