| I recently just took my carb off, apart and cleaned it. I fixed the old problem I was having but now the bike has a High Idle, I did not touch the idle screw in the process of working on it so im thinking its the slide, Ive tried putting it in again and still the same thing. Do I need to make a adjustments on the throttle line? or on the carb end? |

| I may be way off base, but are you sure you didn't put the slide in backwards? |

Could the throttle cable become stretched a bit from removing the slide? It took a little force to pull it out the first time. I will also check for air leaks, Should I check both boots? Or just the one before the carb. |

Im not quite sure how the idle works on this bike, Its most likely not in the manual do to a clear marking on the carb, It says that the idle is under the choke, But im not sure how it works, There is no screw or anything. |

| I would check both boots, air leaks can cause idle problems and can cause motor problems if serious enough. I'm not sure which carb that bike has, but a photo might help us figure out where the idle screw is. I know on some older Honda CR's you could twist the choke knob to adjust the idle. I would doubt you could stretch the throttle cable by pulling hard on it one time, but even if you did that would cause the idle to drop not raise. The cable or slide might be hung up somewhere, causing the high idle. Double check everything (cable routing, carb slide, carb boots, etc). and go from there. |

Will the slide even go in facing the wrong direction? I guess I will try flipping that around last. Here is a picture of the carb, I had to edit it because my camera could not focus good enough. ![]() It appears that you turn the choke but that was not really doing anything, But I may have not turned it enough so I will try that again as well. |

| Ahh, fixed the problem, the throttle cable had to be adjusted up front. Runs very good now that the carb has been cleaned out. |

| On that carb you adjust the idle by turning the choke knob, glad you got it fixed. |
