I really like mine on my 426 too. Does anyone know how to get them clean though? Mine have black rubber stains on them from my boots, and I'd like to clean them up and make them look nice again. Suggestions?

Cowboy,

1000 grit sandpaper and then use some rubbing compound.

Depending on how bad they are marked up you may be able to get away with just using the rubbing compoud.

I gave up on trying to keep them looking nice a long time ago, you end up spending 1/2 hour cleaning them and one ride later they look the same as they did before. I still like them better then the plastic guard though, as I have wore thru several of those in the past.

I found that the stuff called "Goo Off" works great. I know it sounds crazy but this stuff takes the black marks from your boots off like it was dust. I had tons of marks from my boots on the white number backgrounds on mine from starting the thing. It took me about 5 min. to get 3 years worth of black marks off.

PS. works well on your floor from the kids kicking the heels of their shoes on the floor to.

Good Luck

Thunder

Drano....Really?

Wow never would have thought of that one.

Thunder, isn't that stuff called "goof off"? I have my guys carry a bottle of it in our service trailer. It will take literally anything off from anything.

Good advise guys, although I will say that my method not only takes the black stuff off, it makes them look like brand new again!
